American Dart League introduces Adult Youth League in St. Charles County
By Karl Remick, ADA VP

How often do you see parents at a restaurant with their kids’ faces buried in electronic devices plus non-responsive to the family conversation? How about parents’ lack of enthusiasm when they are at a kids’ venue with games and cheap prizes? If you’re living on the same planet as I am, the answer is too often!

Now there is something for both parents and kids to do…together! The American Dart League of St. Charles County introduced its first Adult Youth League last night at Hwy 40 Brews. Hwy 40 Brews is located at 909 Main Plaza Drive, Wentzville, MO 63385 (http://www.hwy40brews.com/).

This collaboration was established by ADA Professional and, now Division Rep, Nancy Cromer. Cromer says, “I wanted the kids to participate in a dart league but at a restaurant, more so than a bar. Considering I work at Hwy 40 Brews and am familiar with the environment, I thought it would be a perfect fit. The food and atmosphere is outstanding!”

We concur that Cromer was right. Not only do they offer the new Radikal Touch Machines which connect to the internet, they also have Bubble Air-Hockey, Skee-ball, modern Crane Machines, and a basketball shot machine.

“I like how the motion of throwing the darts relates to his (Tyler’s) baseball form. It creates a beneficial pattern. Of course he doesn’t throw it as hard as a baseball, but the hand to eye coordination practice is imperative”, states Team Captain, Kim Timmermann.

The league starts with four teams on Wednesday nights using both dart machines housed by the restaurant. “I think we will be able to expand to more nights once our patrons now know that the dart machines are here”, explains Nancy. For this league, the youths range from 12 – 15 and all team Captains are mother’s; a perfect fit for the Doubles Neutralizer League. The first night was very competitive and the kids really took to the league.

If you are in the area on Wednesday nights with your kiddo, come by Hwy 40 Brews and check out all the dart league action!
