ADA Members get connected, through DartConnect!
By Karl Remick, ADA VP

The American Darters Association continues to support the U.S. Military worldwide.  We started our first military dart league back in 2001.  Since then, hundreds of enlisted men and women, personnel, and authorized civilians have joined our growing ADA Family! From league play to weekly high score challenges; the ADA has been proud to provide creative ways for these men and women to enjoy darts, wherever they may be.

Our most recent venture is with one of our partners in the United Darts Alliance; DartConnect. From the creative brains of David Macher and Gregg Tong, came DartConnect. With this wonderful dart technology tool, the ADA can now set up steel-tip leagues online through this powerful Dart Application.  For more information on DartConnect, check them out here: http://dartconnect.com/

Chief Boatswainsmate, Mark Pundt, has been an ADA Member since 2011.  Mark is an avid dart player and has gone to many dart events, tournaments and championships. His most recent travels haven’t taken him to a dart related function, however. Instead, it was to the Middle East for a mini-tour with the Coast Guard. He knew he would be keeping busy, but in the chance he’d have a little down time, Mark of course packed his darts!!!

Shortly after Mark was able to get a steel- tip board up overseas; he reached out to me about qualifying for the 2017 ADA National Championship in St. Louis, MO. Well, as any ADA member would know, you have to play in a Spring League. With Mark working in the Middle East, it seemed an impossible dream. Until it dawned on us; DartConnect! He was already a Member, and us a already working with incorporating the application to ADL formats; this was a no brainer!

Mark found a partner, Senior Chief Maritime Enforcement Specialist Marhsall Riff and jumped into our first ever online ADA DartConnect League through the App!

“The online steel tip league using Dart Connect was a great way for us to play in a league since there were not enough players to have a local league while stationed overseas”, comments Mark.

“We continue to think of new and better ways to get the Military members and players involved in our association.  It’s a nice feeling that wherever Mark goes across the globe, the ADA will be right there with him for his recreational time; darts”, adds CEO Gloria Remick!

Mark’s time overseas could be nearing to an end soon, but he has been able to have fun during his rec-time AND get qualified for the National Championship this year. See you in July, Mark!

If you are in the military overseas or stateside with not enough players to get a steel tip league together, please contact the ADA Home Office 636.614.4380 or leagues@adadarters.com
