ADA Training Seminar Group - Holyoke, MassachusettsI write this as I conduct a Regional Basic Training Seminar in Holyoke, Massachusetts. If all goes to plan the American Dart League will expand to seven new markets this fall. These areas include five of the six New England states and two areas of upstate New York.

On the business side, the ADA is a franchise operation similar to the four major American sports, Major League Baseball, National Football League, National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League. Historically each achieved success by accomplishing two important things; 1) developing a standard for competition and, 2) turning their respective sports into a business. Each offer franchise owners an opportunity to develop and maintain their respective sports while operating a profitable business.

The ADA offers the same opportunity. Once an individual is approved and then trained they are provided the necessary "tools" to develop an ADA franchise in their targeted market. These tools include league rules, score sheets, sales materials, customized software, training, on going support and much more.

Franchise training takes place at our facility located at ADA headquarters in the St. Louis area. All franchisees are required to attend this three-day seminar. Four training sessions are scheduled annually with additional seminars conducted on an "as needed" basis. There is no cost to attend and, more importantly, there is no commitment to purchase the franchise. Only at the conclusion of the seminar do attendees make the decision to become fully licensed ADA Franchisees. On occasion Regional Training Seminars are conducted and this is the case for the expansion areas here in the Northeast.

Owning an ADA franchise is a commitment to our sport and with it comes a level of responsibility. Our current franchise management team is the best we've had in the history of the ADA. There is little doubt their hard work and dedication to our sport provides us the many opportunities we now have available to the ADA.
