St. Louis, gateway to the west and home of the famous Arch, plays host to the Midwest Regional Championship. Held February 6-7-8 the event offers $8,000 in prize money in both soft and steel tip events.
“I’m pleased to report a couple of new additions to this years Regional”, explains Glenn Remick, ADA President. “We’ve added cricket singles to Friday’s agenda. This event will start in the afternoon. The format is also new best of three, best of three sets single elimination. This format is one that is found in many professional sports with members playing a minimum of four games or a maximum of nine. It’s a format I’ve always wanted to develop but was not possible due to the length of the matches. If it is successful we will split the format between men & women in 2005 Regional Championships.”
The Regional has also found a new home and will be hosted by the beautiful St. Louis Downtown Marriott. Located only one block from the Mississippi River and the Arch, the hotel is surrounded by many fine restaurants and is less than 10 minutes to two riverboat casinos. The Marriott has extended a special rate for members who make reservations before January 23rd.
Sponsored by AmberBock and Coca-Cola, soft tip competition will be held on Valley Cougar 8’s with steel tip play on the coin-operated Vortex dart machine. American Dart League members participating in Neutralizer events must pre-register by January 23rd. All darters are eligible for the Open events by simply purchasing an ADA membership at the Regional.
