Registration is accomplished online via credit card by your team captain. To enroll each captain is responsible for gathering team member information and inputting it into the online forms at the ADA web site. After completing the online form they enter their Visa or MasterCard billing information and hit submit. That’s it! Their registration information is transmitted to ADA Headquarters. This new process greatly speeds up the qualification process.
Registration deadline is May 15, 2006.
The ADA National Championship is not limited to teams that compete together within a single league session or geographical area. Teams can also be formed from eligible members in different parts of the country. To assist with assembling teams the ADA will unveil an online “Orphans” list. Members from across the country will be able to go online and submit their name and e-mail address that will be posted to the ADA web site. This allows members to contact each other and assemble teams to register before the deadline. These “built” teams must play all their events in the Open format, “built” teams are not allowed for the Neutralizer® format.
The National Championship claims a unique distinction: it is the only dart contest series in the world that features both for soft-tip and steel-tip competition. Soft tip play will take place on the new Shelti Cougar Eye-II machine. Steel tip action will be held on standard bristle dartboards. This year the Championship the Team & Express League event finals are “formatted” for television and will be held on Thursday morning. Theater style seating will allow members & guests to witness these 16 teams competing. It will quite a “show”. This room will also be available for all of the remaining finals throughout the Championship.”
It is also is also the only dart championship in the USA that seeds competitors in Singles competition. The top 16 men and top 8 women from four-divisions in the steel-tip and soft-tip categories from the American Dart League are rated according to the cumulative scores for every dart thrown in league play. That’s a total of 96 seeded players who enter with a guaranteed share of the prize purse. Seeded players also receive commemorative plaques and public recognition on stage at the National Championship.
In the National Championship Singles, these 96 prestigious qualifiers will compete against the top non-seeds as determined by the early rounds of the National Championship. Between rounds, seeded members practice in the luxury of their own lounge with complimentary food and beverages. |
