ADA LAUNCHES NEW SOFTWARE PROGRAM
FOR SMOOTHER, MORE POWERFUL
LEAGUE AND CHAMPIONSHIP ADMINISTRATION

As we wrap up a very good year, we can now look forward to a great new year!

With cooperation from our Franchisees & League Managers nationwide we are finalizing programs that will elevate the ADA to new heights with prestigious new sponsorship alliances…bold new expansion plans…exciting new competitive events…and a growing roster of ADA Pro darters!

Meanwhile, back here at ADA headquarters, we’re supporting all these ambitious initiatives with a powerful new computer software program.  We’re launching an up-to-the-minute, Windows-based, proprietary ADA American Dart League and Championship administration program to keep the ADA operating more smoothly and efficiently than ever!

Sound good?  That’s only the broad overview!  Now let me share some of the details.  Let’s start with the arena of alliances and friendships…

ALLIANCE STRENGTHENS
WITH ANHEUSER-BUSCH WHOLESALERS

The American Darters Association has proudly been associated with Anheuser-Busch (AB) since our founding in 1990.  Over these years, this great American beverage distiller has supported our programs with high-profile sponsorship, endorsements, valuable publicity, and quality premiums.  At present, ADA’s relationship with Anheuser is strictly on an informal, friendly basis…but our constant communication with AB corporate continues to bring us many important new benefits and vital networking opportunities.

As a result, I’m proud to say that this year the American Darters Association has forged a powerful new relationship with their independent wholesalers.  These 750+ wholesalers, headquartered throughout the U.S., are helping us dramatically grow and expand the ADA player roster and location base.

We have already begun working very successfully with AB to bring ADA league play into hundreds – and eventually, thousands -- of new locations across America!

What does this mean to you, the ADA member?  For starters it means more great Anheuser-Busch “premiums”  (tees, hats, mugs, etc.) at many of your local ADA league events.

But that’s just the beginning.  From a big-picture perspective, our new alliances with AB wholesalers and their locations means a growing “universe” of ADA darts events nationwide.  As we enter more locations, we recruit more players.  That means more strength, a higher profile, and credibility for our sport and for the ADA.  This in turn translates into more sponsorship and alliances with other organizations, as we continue to increase the prestige of the ADA.

For those veteran members, over the years you have witnessed the ADA’s growing pains…but the point is, we ARE growing and continually raising the bar to offer greater quality, more fun, and more rewarding opportunities for all members.  With strong allies like AB & their wholesalers, we’ll keep growing and keep improving the darts experience for all ADA members nationwide!

ADA PROFESSIONALS DOUBLE IN 2007!

Over the past 15 years can you name a national darts program that doubled membership in one year?  To say the ADA’s Professional Darters Certification Program (PDCP) is a success would be an understatement!  I’m pleased to announce this national darts program more than doubled from ’05 to ‘06!   And that is just the beginning!  We’ve achieved three HUGE new benchmarks in our ongoing quest to professionalize the ADA and our sport:

  1. ADA’s second year of the Professional Darters Program is off to a great start! In our first year (2005), 42 ADA darters upgraded their membership level to Professional status. That’s more than the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) professional program recruited in its first year!  As we complete this second year, we are on the road to approaching 100 ADA Pro’s!   As the program continues momentum the number of Pros is going to keep climbing like a skyrocket!   Do you have what it takes to be a Pro?  To add your name to this growing list remember, 2007 is a qualifying year for 2008.

  2. Exclusively for the Pros, the ADA is in the process of putting the final touches on the first-ever Pro Darts Challenge.  Hosted by the city of New Orleans it will be held the weekend of May 4-6!  Details of this event will be announced next month.  (An amateur event will also be included.)

  3. ADA is proud to announce a great new sponsor:  Jim Beam Black, makers of America’s best-known bourbon!  And that’s not all:  Jim Beam will sponsor the Pro Dart Challenge in New Orleans!  Their high-profile endorsement will certainly help contribute to an exciting PROFESSIONAL event!

Faster, Smoother Computer Administration!

Last but certainly not least next month we are launching a powerful new software program that will make it easier and smoother to administer all ADA league and championship activity nationwide.  It is a huge project, one we have been working on since the beginning of ‘06.  For you, the ADA member, this means an even more efficiently-run program as your local Representative & League Managers spend less time on PAPERWORK and more time in the “field”,  making sure that you and your teams enjoy the competitive excitement you expect & deserve!

As most of our members know, ADA weekly fees have remained unchanged for 15 years of successful, exciting league darts.  Beginning with our Spring League program, we’ll be requesting a modest increase to help support all of the above initiatives.  By the way, your sponsoring tavern host locations are sharing some of the increased costs as well (more than members, actually).

We hope and believe you’ll agree these minimal increases are more than compensated for, by the new programs and events that we have in planned for next year and well into the future.  We’re doing our very best to continually bring you MORE programs, MORE sponsorship support, MORE professionalism, and MORE competitive enjoyment than ever!

I speak for all of our Representatives when I say we are excited about the future of the ADA.  Continue to visit the ADA web site for further details regarding our renewed Anheuser-Busch alliance…our new Jim Beam sponsorship…our first-ever Pro Darts Challenge…and the ever-growing world of the ADA!

Finally, from the ADA office, our nationwide network of ADA Representatives & League Managers, we wish each & every one of you a happy holiday season.

Glenn Remick, President
American Darters Association
