The ADA is proud to announce New Orleans ADA Representative’s Larry & Stella Bordlee have been named the ADA’s Franchisee’s of the Year! This annual award is presented to Franchisees who provide excellence, dedication & outstanding performance to the ADA and our sport of darts.
Larry & Stella have been unselfishly promoting our sport of darts for over 25 years. This is certainly just cause for them receiving this award but their efforts go far beyond that. Every American is aware of the devastation Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita brought to the city of New Orleans. In spite of being evacuated twice from their home Larry & Stella managed to keep the New Orleans American Dart League (ADL) intact. During their evacuation they made daily attempts to ADL members. With assistance from ADA headquarters they were able to restore all of the New Orleans members’ records and only six weeks after returning to their homes 80% of our New Orleans members were back playing darts! A remarkable feat.
However their efforts didn’t stop there. During the rebuilding of their home and with a FEMA trailer in their front yard they secured Jim Beam as a sponsor to host the ADA’s first Professional Darts Challenge! Over the next six months their Franchise grew and the American Dart League provided members a recreational “escape” from the tragedy that struck them all.
We thank Larry & Stella Bordlee for their outstanding efforts and perseverance. We congratulate and thank them for their dedication to the ADA and our sport of darts.
