The fresh, warm spring air only means one thing at ADA Headquarters: the ADA Nationals are right around the corner! The American Darters Association's annual 2010 National Championship is back in St. Louis, Missouri at the Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel.
The Sheraton Westport is the perfect vacation spot for individuals and families offering endless restaurants, sports bars, comedy club, pool and even a Starbucks within walking distance with no taxi required! Want a tour of the Westport area before the championship room opens? A pub crawl is planned for Tuesday, August 10th starting at 1:00pm. More information on where to meet and which locations are participating will be available on the ADA website soon.
Offering over $54,000 in prize money this year, the ADA also includes its first ever ADA Youth Event and is bringing back the popular Pro/AM and Division Rep event. The Youth event will be held on the first day of competition, Tuesday, August 10th. The Pro/AM event has been moved to Saturday August 14th and the Division Rep event is scheduled for Sunday August 15th. View the complete schedule on the ADA website.
American Dart League Spring Sessions are now starting! To be eligible for the 2010 ADA National Championship you must play in a Spring ADA session in order to start the qualification process. Not in an ADA League yet? Please contact the ADA Home office for more information on how to get involved. Reminder: You must begin play before May 15th.
Walk ins are welcome and encouraged to attend the ADA Nationals. ADA Membership is required to play in events but a special fee of $10 at the Championship can allow them to participate in specific events, at least one per day.
With all the positive feedback that we received from last year’s blind draw events we have decided to bring the event back and offer it on 5 different nights! The 5 Blind Draw Nights for Nationals are scheduled Tuesday – Saturday. Blind draws are a great socializing event. When you sign up, you enter into a doubles event not knowing who your partner will be. Then our customized software selects your partner. All Blind Draws are Double Elimination for soft tip and steel tip.
The Nationals would not be the same without all our returning “veterans”. We look forward to reuniting with them and also welcoming all the new ADA members and representatives from our new areas around the country as well!
Thanks for playing in the ADA and see you in August!
