O’Fallon MO. - Over the past year I have attended all the Bud Pro Tours the ADA has put on. But I have not seen better darts thrown than the ones I saw at the September BPT at ABC Billiards in O’Fallon. This is the first BPT at ABC Billiards, which is a new venue for our dart leagues, and they treated us great. Our pros for the night were Duane Timmermann and new pro Brian Obrecht. Now these two darters are certainly not strangers to each other. And it definitely showed watching them win every game they played.
With 8 darters showing up to take on these pros, they all had there fair share of chances to win, including myself. 19 matches were played and 19 matches were won by the pros. The two players who came the closest to winning were DR’s Steve Wilson and Derek Dressler with leaving 38 points remaining (which was great considering who they were playing). At one point they got down to 2 points remaining but unfortunately busted leaving Brain up next to end the match.
For me, the most exciting thing was seeing 35 tons thrown that night. From Tons to T80’s and everything in between these two dominated the board. Brian threw 16 tons with Duane throwing 19. “We said we where going for 30 Tons for the night so I guess 35 isn’t bad.” said Pro Brian Obrecht. At certain times it felt like I was at Nationals watching a doubles finals match. They were 100% unstoppable. But a special mention is in order for new DR Steve Wilson who threw 4 Tons himself. It was truly an awesome night of darts. A special thanks to our waitress Megan and to Kelly at ABC Billiards who took very good care of us ADA darters.
