Congratulations to all the ADA Pros who participated and placed at the National Championship this year! We had another excellent turnout with Pros attending from all over the United States.

All the Pro events at the 2011 National Championship were separated into Female and Male categories and the Pro event was moved to a different time on the Warm-Up Wednesday schedule. Pro Singles 501 followed the Open Cricket Singles event providing the Pros an additional event to show their skills at the National Championship. Congrats to Gary Boyd and Holly Dye who both took 1st place for Pro Singles Soft Open event!

Pro / Amateur 501 event was still offered on Saturday in both steel and soft tip categories. This event pairs a Pro with an ADA member that is considered an “amateur”. Amateurs are members below a certain PPDA. Congrats to all the 1st place winners; Shane Meeks and Chris Harris Men’s Pro/Am Soft Open event, Jason Cohea and Agapito Mendoza Men’s Pro/Am Steel Open event, Mary Thomas and Terri Harris Women’s Pro/Am Soft Open event, Tammy Schick and Kelly Graf Women’s Pro/Am Steel Open event.
The Top Seed/Pro lounge was available on Friday while the Preliminary Singles Matches were going on starting that morning. The ADA seeds the Top 16 Men (Steel and Soft) and Top 8 Women (Steel and Soft) before the Championship begins. The lounge gives Top Seed and Pro members the opportunity to warm up, relax, socialize, eat and drink for free in a separate area from the championship room. “Just one of the many perks you receive when you are a part of the ADA Pro or Top Seed Program,” says Championship Director Karl Remick.
The American Darters Association is the only dart organization with certified professional darters. In order to become an ADA Pro members must play in the Open division each quarter of the calendar year, meet the required number of 501 games, maintain a minimum Point Per Dart Average (PPDA) specific to the league they are playing in and must be in good standing with the ADA. Pro events are offered throughout the year in various ADA locations nationwide. Also look for St. Louis MO ADA Pro Gary Boyd in the next Men’s Health magazine!
