Nationals is only 6 months away so we have until then to practice and get ready, especially since we’re having the SILVERDART players from Spain coming! For any of you that want to know more information about our overseas friends, I’ll save you the Google search (which would include you translating their site since it’s in Spanish) and fill you in on what I learned about SILVERDART.
The company, BLUE & ACCESS, S.L. manufactures digital electronic dartboards, and their trade mark is SILVERDART. They have had different models during the last 20 years of development and the current model is the SILVERDART QUANTUM and its last modification allows online dart competitions between players in different cities, countries, or even continents.
You may have heard of the new event that has been added to this year’s National Championship event schedule; Team ADA vs. Team Spain. The dart players that are coming from Spain are part of their SILVERDART association and play exclusively on SILVERDART machines during the events they organize. SILVERDART is fronting the bill to send a select group of their players to Vegas to compete at the ADA National Championship.
These players have become ADA members and will start American Dart Leagues in their area so they are eligible to play in all events that week. If you aren’t one of the Team ADA members in the Team ADA vs. Team Spain event – no worries! You will have a chance to play against our new members all week!
You’ll find me working at the Registration and Payout table in the Championship Hall but I hope to get the opportunity to play in one of the blind draws because who knows, maybe I’ll be matched up with one of them! This year is going to be like none other! In past events I’ve been paired up with big hitters like Shane Meeks and Gary Boyd (just to name a few) and it’s always a great opportunity to play with them, but to get someone from Spain…what a honor and great story to tell my dart friends. Not only will this be a once in a lifetime opportunity but it will be a great chance to learn about how they live, their culture, make new friends and the best part of all--they will have an accent (I’m a sucker for accents), LOL!
If you haven’t already taken this week off from work, now is the time! Do it now! Get out your calendar and mark VEGAS all across the week of July 11th-15th. The ADA National Championship is an event that you don’t want to miss! See you all at Palace Station!
