Last July at the ADA’s National Championship’s 20th Anniversary, the ADA decided to raffle off a Vortex, electronic steel tip, dart machine. Tickets went for $10 and your name was put in the bucket. To increase sales the ADA home office had a competition to see which area could sell the most tickets in the month of March and Joe Serina from #235 Virginia Beach, VA sold the most tickets leading up to the drawing of the winner.
Total Vortex raffle tickets sold were 130 and on March 31st, the winner was drawn. Ticket #74 was drawn out of the bucket by Michelle Gacki, owner of Heroes Pub and Grill, in Lake St. Louis, MO. The lucky winner was Charlie Norman of St. Peters, MO! Everyone at the bar cheered and clapped as Charlie had to absorb what had just happened. He was VERY excited and couldn’t believe that his ticket was pulled. Charlie told ADA staff members that this will be a perfect addition to his dart room which he has been working on for the last couple of years and lacked one thing…a steel tip board.
