Thirty years ago (1982) Glenn & Gloria Remick with the Western Massachusetts Darting Association started a telephone steel tip dart match between Northampton Massachusetts and Northampton England calling it Darts Across the Sea. Over the years the teammates, scores, locations and technology have changed but the concept has remained the same. Year after year, ten dart players make up each team and compete for the title and bragging rights.
Since the American Darters Association (ADA) was formed in 1991 the USA team has been compiled of ADA members from all over the United States. Some years the Darts Across the Sea event was attached to ADA Regional Championship Series events and other years it was a standalone event. This year to mark the 30th anniversary team USA will compete in ADA Representative Craig Carr’s area of Caseyville Illinois October 27th 2012 at 1:00pm.
Qualifier event(s) will be scheduled prior to the event. ADA members from any area will have the opportunity to compete for one of the ten slots to represent Team USA.
