From the eyes of someone that worked registration, the ADA’s 21st National Championship was a success! This year I worked the registration / payout area with Gloria Remick and Chris Stone. This was the first year that Chris worked this part of the National Championship but you wouldn’t know that by how quickly he caught on!

Team Captains started to check in their teams and collect their team packets on Wednesday afternoon. Other members came in to register for the warm-up events that were offered that day. Throughout the weekend all members came in at one point to either register for an event they wanted to play in or they collected their prize money and trophies/plaques/medals. We also had 2012 ADA National Championship t-shirts for sale and held a daily raffle for various prizes!
This year in the registration room we had Lucci’s Korner which was a place players could stop to have their shirts embroidered that they either had with them or the National Championship shirts that the ADA was selling. Lucci is a mother of one of our VA players so if she wasn’t busy taking orders she was chatting with the players. Lucci was busy from the time registration opened to the time we closed each night, she was a hit! Check out her website at http://www.luccis-korner.com/.

We did have a few players that had forgotten they were already in events and tried to sign up for them again, but overall there were no issues with players this year! Everyone acted very professional and as a side note, during our down time we enjoy when players stop in to chat with us. Most of the players we only get to see once a year, so getting caught up is always enjoyable for us! It’s always sad when Sunday rolls around and people start to say their goodbyes, but we always have next year’s National’s to look forward to (as well as our Regional’s later this year)!
