On Saturday July 14th at 5:30 for the first time ever ADA members from all over the United States competed against a hand selected group of dart players from Spain. Team ADA vs. Team Silverdart took the Championship stage in the ADA Dart Hall at Palace Station Hotel & Casino for the most anticipated event of the 21st ADA National Championship!
Team ADA consisted of Shane Meeks, Bill Cross Jr., Shannon Frye, Gary Boyd, Jim Fairley, Mark Youngblood, Chris Cartwright, Michelle Adams, Joanna Lain and Martha Garcia.
Team Silverdart consisted of Josep Torrent, Daniel Andres, Jesus Garcia Heredia, Joan Carles, Angel Diaz and Maria Angelova.
If members weren’t currently playing in a match they came to watch this one and boy was it popular as the room filled up fast and people lined the sides and back of the room to watch. Games consisted of 901 Singes and 2/3 Man Cricket. Spain took the lead right off the bat and won the first couple of matches, but then Team ADA was on fire and came back to win 6-4. Everyone was cheering for both teams as there were a lot of great darts thrown!
The ADA would like to thank the players from Spain for coming to compete against them. Everyone played their hardest and hopefully in the near future the ADA can take a road trip to Spain to play on their turf! Another thank you goes to interpreter Erik Cervantes for coming to Vegas to interpret for all of us throughout the weekend. Without him it would have been very hard to communicate with the Spain players!
