MCCS Dart League News...
MCCS Dart League Exhibitions

Budweiser Welcome BannerIn an effort to launch the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Dart League I had the pleasure of meeting with Marines and invited guests at two Marine Corps facilities. The purpose was two-fold; first to inform those who attended details on the MCCS Dart League and, secondly, to toss some darts and have some fun!

USMC Reserve Command - Kansas City, KS

Event Participants at the USMC Reserve Command - Kansas City, MOThe first event took place at the Marine Corps Reserve Support Command in Kansas City, Missouri on March 7th. MCCS Division Representative Cpl. Brian Ward organized the event held at RG's the Reserve's military club. Attendees were given a prize and a raffle ticket just for attending.  After the short briefing a Dart World Shot Saver was drawn as the grand attendance prize.  Directly after the meeting Cpl. Ward and myself challenged the darters to one game of 501, straight start, double finish.  Additional raffle tickets were given to those who challenged us. Prizes donated by Dart World, Budweiser and Coca-Cola were awarded after each game. For those teams that defeated us special MCCS Dart League shirts were awarded.

After 18 doubles games, Cpl. Ward and myself lost only one game and that was to Master Gunnery Sgt. Don Ostrolencki and Cpl. David Cote.  Cpl. Ward did a great job in organizing and promoting the event.   The final drawing of the night was the Coca-Cola cabinet and bristle dartboard, a $150. prize and was won by Damian Robinson.

The following Thursday, March 14th, I traveled to Camp Quantico, Virginia which also serves as headquarters for MCCS. The format was identical to the Reserve Command in Kansas City.  Our MCCS Dart League Division Rep. at Quantico is Bryce Hullet who works at the Naval Medical facility.  After the briefing attendees competed against Bryce and myself for more Dart World, Budweiser and Coca-Cola prizes. Bryce is a great player and after 16 doubles games, again, only one loss!

It was a great night of darts, pizza, and cold beverages!  Thanks to Brian and Bryce we look forward to both the Reserve Support Command and Quantico joining the MCCS Dart League soon.
