Dart players took time from their holidays to enjoy the first Michelob AmberBock Dart Night on Saturday, December 27, 2003. This event was hosted by American Darters Association Representatives Bill Brodie and Judy Rexford at Twin Towers Night Club in Thornton, CO. Darters from as far away as Greeley, CO attended this fun evening of darts, prizes, and cold AmberBock.
The evening began with ADA Rep. Bill Brodie and ADA General Manager Michael Wiestling, from St. Louis taking on challenge matches on the Vortex Electronic Steel-tip dart machine. The dart machine was well received by the darters who were more than up for the challenge defeating Bill and Michael 5 out of 7 matches to win prizes.
A blind draw doubles tournament began immediately following the challenges with tough competition continuing through each round of the tournament. In the end, the team of Andrew Trabosh and Richard “Speedy” Gonzales took 1st place defeating Curt Teiken and Rosa Murray-Varra to claim the top prize money along with their own AmberBock dart boards.
Almost everyone went home a winner, as prizes were distributed, including premiums and another AmberBock dart board raffled as each AmberBock sampled from the bar included a ticket for the drawing. “Everyone really enjoyed the evening and the AmberBock” recounted Twin Towers Manager Pete Carreras. “We’re gonna stock this beer at the bar from now on”.
Special thanks to Twin Towers hosts Linda Wright & Pete Carreras along with their fine staff, American Darters Associations and Anheuser Busch.
