One of the American Darters Association’s newest league areas held their Division Championship match on May 18, 2004. The inaugural season of the Amberbock sponsored American Dart League is operated by ADA Rep. Jon Rice in Nashua, New Hampshire. Located just north of the Massachusetts border, Nashua and the surrounding communities are a rapidly growing area of the northeast.
Members competed in the ADA’s Express League Neutralizer steel tip format. After the finishing the regular season, the top four teams advanced to the Division Championship playoffs. The teams of 2 Guys and a Gal from Cattleman’s Sports Bar, and 3 Amigos from Scorz Billiards advanced to the finals. Having the better season record, 3 Amigos from Scorz hosted the match.
The race-to-9 games match play was a see-saw battle and at “ half time”, with eight games played, the score stood at 4 points apiece! The advantage went to the 3 Amigos in the second half who took a commanding 7-5 lead. 2 Guys and a Gal rallied by taking the next three games and taking the lead back at 8-7, but 3 Amigos tied the score at 8-8 after sixteen playoff games! A final triples cricket involving all team members would determine southern New Hampshire’s first American Dart League Championship team! After a hard fought battle, 2 Guys and a Gal were victorious winning the game and the title, 9-8!
Great darts were thrown by all the team members, including Division MVP Dennis Gilbert. “Member of the Week” points are earned based on Points Per Dart Average, winning percentage and game achievements by each member in weekly league play. These points are accumulated during the regular season to determine the division MVP.
