New Orleans, also known as the Big Easy, is a great city to party. Just over a year ago New Orleans ADA Representatives Larry and Stella Bordlee introduced the AmberBock Tournament Trail here and keeping with the tradition of this great city these events have turned into huge success!
With assistance from the local Anheuser-Busch wholesaler one tavern is selected each month and great Michelob AmberBock premiums are awarded. The competition format is blind draw doubles, played double elimination best 2 out of 3 games. The games include 501 open in / open out and cricket, with a “cork calls” game choice on the 3rd leg.
Needless to say, these series events have quickly grown into a hit with New Orleans darts players. ADA members and darters from throughout the area follow this trail of events as it moves from one tavern to the next throughout the year. In fact it is so popular that many of the other weekly tournaments in the area “close down” that night so all can enjoy these popular events!
Larry and Stella put on a great show and the AmberBock Tournament Trail certainly compliments their franchise. The American Dart League and AmberBock Tournament Trail has quickly earned a reputation for bringing one of the most fun nights to the area.
The November 2004 event was held at Big “C” Sports Bar a night that saw the players pouring in by start time for one of the largest turn-outs yet. Big “C”’s is a great location for darts and when the final dart was thrown Will Fricano and Ed Blondiau captured first place.
