On February 25-26, 2005 the American Dart League of New Orleans held its $3,000.00 AmberBock American Dart League Fall Fever Tournament at Phil’s Lounge in Harvey, Louisiana. Phil’s Lounge joined the American Dart League (ADL) in the Summ er 2004 session by sponsoring one team. Phil’s Lounge quickly became a dart “hot spot” in the Fall 2004 session with 4 dart boards and 11 teams playing on 3 different nights each week in the ADL.
The Fall Fever kicked off Friday, February 25th with the opening ceremonies awarding trophies to the Division Champion Teams from the Fall 2004 session. Following the awards a $1,000 blind draw doubles tournament was held. This “no entry fee” dart tournament was open to all ADA members that met the required participation during the Fall 2004 session of league play. The dart play was competitive and at 1:00am, after working their way through the tournament bracket Glen Michel Jr. and Eric Gondrella defeated George Warren and Anthony Burns for 1st place.
Members returned the next evening on February 26th for the $2,000 blind draw triples cricket event. After losing their second round match, the team of Anthony Burns, Beverly Dominque and George Warren climbed through the double elimination bracket to win the first place honors in a hard fought 5 match championship round.
The ADA members enjoyed this event stating “It gives us the opportunity to play against and see the members that play in the league on other nights that we do not get the chance to meet”. Special thanks Johnny and Jimmie, the owners of Phil’s Lounge for hosting the event and serving the fine spread of crawfish, food and cold beverages throughout the weekend. Also thanks to Michelob AmberBock and Southern Eagle Distributing for the additional prizes that were awarded during the two day event.
