Amarillo, Texas - AmberBock Draw Doubles

After a very successful stop at Sneakerz in Albuquerque, NM, I met the following morning with the staff at Premier Distributing to formulate plans to expand the ADA & American Dart League in Albuquerque. Then I hit road back on I-40 east to the Texas panhandle and Amarillo.

The four-hour 300 mile Trek brings me into Amarillo mid afternoon allowing me with just enougPhoto: Amarillo playersh time to meet with Budweiser Distributing Company, the local Anheuser-Busch wholesaler, and then set up at tonight’s host location, Burberry’s.  Amarillo has two steel tip dart clubs (no soft tip here) the West Texas Dart Association (WTDA), playing on Thursday nights, and the Amarillo Dart Association (ADA) who play on Tuesday nights.

The host location, Burberry’s, is located downtown and has two dartboards in a spacious location downstairs shared with two pool tables.  Thanks to their cooperation and support of the WTDA and the ADA the event was well attended by their members. During the event I met with members of their Board.  Amarillo has a population of 175,000 and with the support of Budweiser Distributing they agreed there is plenty of room for the American Dart League.  So we will not conflict with their existing leagues, we’ll play on Monday and Friday nights.  Once underway, organized darts will exist on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday nights!

Photo: Jennifer, Shannon & CindyIn regards to the AmberBock Draw Doubles competition, these Amarillo darters have the ability to throw great darts and party at the same time. And party they did!  Locals Cindy & Jennifer registered the darters, worked the bracket and tossed out some great AmberBock prizes through random draws during the competition. All attendees received attendance prizes provided by Budweiser Distributing.

Congratulations to Barry Hankins & Jeremy Raymond who defeated Jack Russell & Kevin Coryell to win the event.  In addition to all entry fees returned as cash prizes, these top two teams received AmberBock bristle dartboards and AmberBock darts provided by the American Darters Association.

It was a great night of darts in Amarillo and these are darters I look forward to having on board as ADA members as we look forward to expanding there this fall.

Next stop….Oklahoma City, stay tuned!
