Crawl before you Shoot

Crawl Before You Shoot
By Chris Stone, ADA Representative

Pub Crawl Heroes Group 1

Have you ever shot darts in multiple tournaments at multiple bars in one day?  Or at least wished you could?  Recently, ADA Area 633 Members did just that at the 1st annual 633 Pub Crawl!

There were four stops for the day with two hours at each location: Wentzville Hotshots; Heroe’s Pub & Grill; Shamrocks and ending at Snibo’s in St. Peters.  The members all piled in to a very nice party bus, donated by ADA Member/Division Rep/Professional Charlie Norman.  Along with safe transportation by new ADA Member Anthony Tonioli, they were able to relax, socialize, and have a great time between locations.  For those that couldn’t make the all day trip, members met the bus to participate at each stop that fit their schedule.

The event was open to both ADA Members and non-members and kicked off at Hotshots Sports Bar in Wentzville, MO at 11am.  Hotshots Wentzville is located at: 49 Wentzville Bluffs Drive Wentzville, MO 63385.  After ordering their morning Bloody Mary’s players competed in their first Singles Steel Tip tourney, consisting of Best of 3 Cricket double elimination.  Along with the event players also participated in various raffles and 50/50’s.  Phil Lucido took 1st place with Rick Groceman in a close 2nd.  Thanks to Tom Morgan his staff at Hotshots for the drinks and a great space to play.  Hotshots Wentzville hosts ADL league on Monday Nights.

After loading up the bus, the next stop was Heroes Pub & Grill located at: 760 Lakeside Plz, Lake Saint Louis, MO 63367.  Once again players entered a Cricket singles tournament, but this time it was on electronic boards. Rick Groceman took 1st and Drew Tustin with 2nd. Bar owner, host and ADA Member Sharissa Rockwell also provided an amazing lunch, Hat Trick shot specials, along with side dart challenges for prizes and cash.  One could sit on a bar stool behind the throw line to try and hit a bull or hit a dollar bill three times that was stuck to the board.  Accomplishing this won you a cash prize or a chance to win an awesome gift basket. Thanks to Sharissa and Phil Lucido and the Heroes staff for the hospitality.  Heroe’s also hosts ADL leagues on Monday nights.

The third stop was Shamrocks Pub & Grill located at 4177 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, Saint Peters, MO 63376.  Darters went back to Steel Tip but this time a 501 challenge with a new 1st Place champion Charlie Norman and repeat winner Rick Groceman in 2nd.  Yeah, Rick was on fire that day!  Shamrock’s had great drink specials and a friendly staff.  There was no shortage of fun here.  Some of the lady darters even threw their own party on top of the bus!  Thanks to Kyle and Kelly Dent and their wonderful staff at Shamrocks for having us.  Watch for more events coming to Shamrocks!

Just a quick hop across the highway, led the bus to Snibo’s Sports Bar.  Snibo’s is located at 2129 Parkway Dr, Saint Peters, MO 63376. As we walked into a full house, it was nice to see the dart area reserved for our event.   Darters went back to Cricket, with Karl Remick taking 1st and myself, Chris Stone in 2nd.  Not a bad end to the tournament day!  The 4th and biggest 50/50 raffle of the day took place with a bar patron winning and helping towards the cause.  A special thanks to Kate Martell & Christina Schantz for doing our 50/50’s! It was good to see even the non-darters get involved and have fun with us!  Thanks to Leslie and Patty of Snibo’s for having us.  Snibo’s hosts ADL play on Thursday nights.

All in all this was a great event to let loose, do something different, and raise a little money for our players to attend ADA Championships throughout the year.  Proceeds from the raffles will aide darters in going to the upcoming Mid West Regional in Blue Springs, MO.  Event information located here: https://www.adadarters.com/event/mid-west-regional-soft-tip/ It was good to see everyone come out and thanks once again to the host locations and to Mike Lorts of 2&1 Amusements for sponsoring some spots on the ADA Party Bus!  Next year will be even bigger and better!  Thanks for playing in the ADA!
